The course discussion emphasizes understanding of the five maturity levels and the grouping of process areas (PAs). The course is based on the current version of the CMMI-SE/SW/IPPD/SS. Based on this course, participants will be able to: describe the process management and improvement principles that underpin the CMMI model explain the architecture of the CMMI staged model (maturity levels, process areas, goals, and generic practices) interpret the CMMI model as a member of CMMI-Based appraisal team member apply the CMMI principles to meet the needs of systems engineering and software engineering organizations Topics for the course include: Introduction to the model CMMI Overview Engineering Process Maturity – CMMI Principles Maturity Levels And Process Areas Of The CMMI Framework Staged Representation Linking The Process Areas Together Interpreting the CMMI Application of the CMMI Introduction to CMMI enables participants to make valid judgments regarding the organization’s implementation of the process areas. The course is helpful in identifying issues that should be addressed in performing process improvement as structured by CMMI. In addition to training SEPG members, this training is mandatory for anyone that will participate on the CMMI formal appraisal, or SCAMPI. The workshop trains the team on how to interpret the CMMI model in the context of the organization. Successful attendees will be registered in SEI database.
